Flexprice: open source billing for AI agents
Nikhil Mishra, co-founder and CTO of Flexprice, on billing AI agents from the traces they already leave, and on agents that run accounts receivable.
Nikhil Mishra is co-founder and CTO of Flexprice. Luca Berton met him in San Francisco on 20 October 2026 and asked what the project does. The conversation is under three minutes; this is what it covers.
What Flexprice does
“Flexprice is basically a billing software. We help you monetize your AI agents.” It meters usage and runs usage-based and credit-based pricing, so a company that sells an AI product can run whatever pricing model it wants. Flexprice then charges the end customer, manages their credit wallets, shows the ledger and provides a customer portal that plugs straight into the application. Invoicing and payments happen behind the scenes. And it is open source.
Where the usage comes from
Luca asked whether it depends on the agent framework, CrewAI or one like it. It does not: “You can build your agents anywhere.” Flexprice has native integrations with most AI gateways, so usage can be streamed to it from the gateway or directly from the application. If the traces already go to Langfuse, Flexprice can pull the events from there. “All we need is users’ traces”, how someone is using the AI agents or AI products, “and then we can start billing them.”
So is it Stripe billing for AI agents? “You can say that.”
Next: agents for finance teams
Billing is one part of the work, and Flexprice works closely with finance teams. In B2B finance, contracts are signed, invoices go out every month or every quarter, and much of it is done by hand: when a payment arrives, someone matches it against the invoices, and someone sets up every contract in the billing software. Flexprice is building AI agents that run accounts receivable on their own. They set up the contracts, send out the invoices, track the payments and send reminders to customers, so a finance team can “sit back and close your books much faster.”
How to try it
Flexprice can be set up from its GitHub repository with a one-click setup, or used as Flexprice Cloud, which comes with a free sandbox. Moving to production means picking one of its pricing plans.
